Yesterday, July 7th, Boris Johnson tendered his resignation as UK Prime Minister. Here we have the speech in full for you to digest.
On Thursday 7th July, slightly later than anticipated at just after 12.30pm, Johnson made a speech to the nation in which he tendered his resignation as Leader of the Conservative Party.
Crucially, he did not say that he would be leaving the post of Prime Minister straight away, instead saying that "I today appointed a Cabinet to serve as I will until a new leader is in place."
